The Auburn Chamber
of Commerce vision for the greater Auburn trade
area is to be the catalyst for: creating an ideal
and positive atmosphere for a healthful, harmonious
and perfect community for both family and work force.
Establishing and maintaining a cohesive community
rich in synergy. Fostering enthusiasm in the community
so as to allow for positive relationships, which
shall result in prosperity and continued growth.
The Auburn
Chamber of Commerce is organized to promote, extend
and foster the retail, industrial, professional,
agricultural service civic and cultural growth of
the city of Auburn and its trade.
On February
14th, 1903 a group of forty-four men gathered together
and signed their names to the Articles of Association
that began the "Auburn Commercial Club". The Articles
of Incorporation were then filed with Ed Jackson,
Secretary of State for the State of Indiana, on
March 7, 1903. The object of the Association was
to promote the commercial and manufacturing interest
and the general welfare of the City of Auburn. On
November 27th, 1957 the Auburn Commercial Club was
reorganized and named "Auburn Chamber of Commerce".
Today, 99 years
after its inception the Chamber of Commerce has
grown to 248 businesses with a total membership
of over 12000 citizens. It's purpose remains steadfast
in promotion and fostering of the retail, industrial,
professional, agricultural, service, civic, and
cultural growth of the City of Auburn and its trade
area. To that end the Chamber of Commerce is dedicated
to creating, maintaining, and extending a friendly
and helpful attitude between and for all citizens
and interests in the city. Further...the Chamber
promises to promote and give support to civic and
public improvement, to established business and
industry, and to welcome new business and industry.
